Considering the difficulty (often impossibility) of implementing certain modules, I think it would be best just to mention what weaponry and role the ship fits. (So we'd list what's in the high slots, as well as a description of the ship.) I thought about using the descriptions straight from the itemDB/market, but they're a bit lengthy and don't always reflect the ship's most useful role.

What about carriers, Titans, and dreadnaughts? And for a suggestion if you want to implement tech 2 ships whenever you up-grade a ship its skin and arment can change to tech 2. plus one more thing, for the harvesters you can use the mining barges. And with ships with ecm, just make it like the harthingy frigate from the pirates mod.

I have an idea * =D * If we script it so that the moons are minable ONLY BY MOON MINING ARRAYS.......wouldnt that so kick ass? and giv eyou like thousands of RU's per cycle...which would take, say 60 secs?
how about individual weapons? each ship comes preloaded or you can custom build it? how about drones? are they under the Frigate class? how about fighters? fighters in EVE can take BS's with ease, but in HW2, making them under frigate would not be a bad idea...Drones can go into this as well...what about miners? have Procurers that can control 5 miner drones, and then retreivers that can control10, and etc....can you guys incorporate shields, then armor, and the hull? so that each of the ships are correctly modeled after EVE? how about Outposts? like Uber Stations? how about Titans? any of those =D? Dreadnoughts....ok let me knnow =D

1st off, dont be an idiot yet, you double posted, and trashed someone, when you onley have 3 posts, one of them bieng a double post. I kn9ow i am new to the board, but you cant just sign in and start trolling the forums with people who have good ideas.
and ps, apart from this guy theres been noone on in a week to say anything.

I don't see how he "trashed someone." The double post wasn't necessary, but it was clearly a mistake (exact same post less than one minute apart = a problem with his/her ISP or browser, not a message typed twice.
As for the barge drones, probably not going to happen. Also the maximum number of drones is 5 for any ship but a carrier (which can have up to 10 if the Advanced Drone Interfacing skill is trained to 5 and the Drone Control Modules are fitted.)
Tanking is being done in a grossly simplified form for now. Our primary focus at the moment is finding a texturer. If we can't find somebody to texture the ships, there's not much point in continuing to import models; hence we're stuck.
As has been stated several times before, this is not an EVE simulation. This is a mod for the HW2 engine that incorporates aspects of the EVE universe (weaponry and ships, relative speeds, etc...) Many aspects of EVE are NOT going to be included, however. Ship fitting is a bad idea, it slows the game down considerably (seriously, a fleet of 20 battleships where you need to fit 8 separate guns on EACH is ridiculous.) The goal is not to make this a slow, super-accurate simulation. What we want is a fun, faster-paced version of EVE that fits more with the RTS genre than MMOs. If people want to mess with detailed ship fittings, tanking, etc... then EVE: Online is the game for them. If they just want a quick fleet battle, that's where the mod steps in.

IMO the mod should remain all tech 1 for balance and playtesting purpouses. With the exception of the special case ships like cloakers. I noticed you dont have any of the races carriers listed. Im assuming that the specific races carrier will be in that slot. how will you implement the building? Rocket Kestrels could be the bombers, and that would be thier specialized role in the mod. While Merlins could be the space superiority (multirole) fighters, because they can use both missiles and turrets. Ether the Condor or Heron could be used in the scout role. Condor for its speed. Heron for Eve "cannoness". I think it is possible to script in more than 3 class's of fighter in hw2, but im not sure im not a coder. It would be nice to see all the frigates in the lineup but sometimes less is more As Masterzog said this mod is an RTS based on the EVE universe. Not EvE converted to an RTS. Tho it would be nice if the features of eve could be implemented it may be impossible to do in the hw2 engine. You make the best of what you have to work with, and try to mimic as closely as possible. Im looking foward to seeing this mod take form, and i offered my skills to the mod team to help them achieve this.

Well like to say hi to all you guys, and to say I'll try and help you guys out as much as possible on this mod though my programing/texture/mesh skills are non-exsistant That said for the mine layer destroyers just do a secont texture with the interdictor color scheme on it. If any ship would fit the mindlayer role in eve right now would be those. If you guys need any Screenies of the caldari or gallente ships let me know. My ingame character in Nicoli Voldkif of the Caelli-Merced corporation.

Suggestion: For units, why not use the Revelation, Naglfar, Phoenix, and Moros as the battlecruisers of Homeworld 2? Given their serious RU requirements it would seem fitting. You could always do some serious modding and alter core game mechanics to make them more EVE like as well; gimme asteroid belts where you have to mine for your seven ores, d**nit

We're not dumping any of EVE's ships into HW2's built-in classes. We're rewriting the relevant scripts so those will be gone from the game mechanics, replaced by something much more EVE-like.

Out of interest, no Dreadnoughts? Shame really. It'd be an opportunity to add in something not currently in HW2.
Assuming your BS's are going to be the equivalent of HW2's Destroyer and Battlecruiser, While Carriers are going to be Mothership class, theres an opportunity here to put in something akin to the size of a HW2 Mothership, but with firepower instead of traditional Mothership qualities. Of course, should represent the siege weapon tjhat is an EVE Dread, and be rubbish at fighting small ships, but you know how it is.
Also shame thers no EVE Battlecruisers, but I guess I can see why for that one.

Actually we are including Battlecruisers and Dreadnoughts. Every T1 ship will be included, with one possible exception: shuttles.
